Faithful Community Events

Announcements for the upcoming week:

• Have you ever wondered what your Spiritual Gift or Gifts are? Or maybe you want to confirm what you already know about your Spiritual Gift. If this is you, Westside will be having a Spiritual Gifts class led by our very own Sister Sandra Thompson on August 15th from 8 am to noon in portable 3D. There is a signup sheet in the foyer.

• Budgets are due 30 September. Forms are in the finance inbox.

• September 12^th starting at 4pm, the Gospel Travelers will be celebrating their 34^th Musical Anniversary, here at Westside Baptist Church. Please come help them celebrate as they will have special performances with Praise dancers, mime teams, a male chorus, choirs, and much more.

• God’s Way Community Baptist Church, would like to invite you to Pastor Roy Sephus and First Lady Sephus’s 24^th Anniversary on Sunday, September 6^th at 3:30pm. This year their theme and scripture will be “A Legacy of Faithful Service” 1 Corinthians 15:58. The guest speaker will be Pastor Lindsey R. Wilson Sr. from Shiloh Baptist Church of Elgin TX. If you would like to attend, please RSVP by Monday, August 31^st by contacting the front office.   

• The God's Way Community Baptist Women are inviting the Westside Women to a retreat at the Summers Mill Retreat Center in Belton, TX. the Teme is "Let It Go" based on Isaiah 43:18 NIV: "Forget the the former things; do not dwell on the past". This event will take place from Friday, November 20th 3:00pm to Sunday, November 22nd noon. Please register by Wednesday, September 30, 2026. To register please see the flyer in the foyer. First come first serve they have a cap at 20 women.

• We have some We Love Our Church Red T-shirts available for $10.00. If you are interested, please see Sis Kerra. 

• The Evangelism Team needs your help! They are requesting one member from each Auxiliary to join their team! They are also looking for men join. If you are interested, please see Reverend Dr. Rosebur.

• The van ministry is looking for drivers to help with Sunday School, and Wednesday Bible Study pickup. Drivers must be responsible drivers with a valid driver’s license and good driving record. Please see Deacon Barrett if you are interested.

• All announcements and cards are due by noon each Wednesday. Your announcement and cards MUST be turned into the office for approval.

Things to remember:

• Our Westside food pantry is now open every 3^rd Wednesday from 11am to 1pm and 4th Wednesday from 4:30 to 6pm.
• Free bread pantry is every Friday from 10am to 1pm in the Fellowship Hall.
• Anyone interested in helping at the Killeen Food Bank, please meet here every 2^nd Saturday at 8am.
• Youth Announcements can be emailed to: westsideyouth1@yahoo.com
• Ministers’ Wives will meet on the 3^rd Saturday at 10am. Please contact Sis Jones for the location at 254-449-0505.
• The Children’s Church and the Westside Angels Children Church is held every 2^nd, 4^th, and 5^th Sundays.
• New members class is located in portable 3E every Sunday at 9:45am.
