Announcements for the upcoming week:




  • Attention Aux leaders: All yearly calendars are due Monday, December 1st. Please turn into the front office.

 

  • Election day is Tuesday, November 4th, and Westside will act as a voting station from 7am to 7pm. If you have any questions, please call the front office.

 

  • Our Westside Annual Christmas Banquet is Sunday, December 7th at 4pm. We have 200 seats available. Ticket prices are as follows: Adults: $30, Child: $15 ages 6-12, Children 5 and under FREE. Please join us for delicious food, endless fun & unforgettable fellowship. Please see Sister Talley for ticket purchase.


  • Christmas Shoeboxes are here! Operation Christmas Child delivers great joy and the Good News of Jesus Christ to children in need around the world through gift‍-‍filled shoeboxes. Each box packed full of quality toys, school supplies, and personal care items becomes a tangible expression of God's immense love for the child. For many, it is their first gift ever! Delivered by our local church partners, shoebox gifts provide an opportunity to present the Gospel to boys and girls in a clear, child-friendly way. Please take a shoebox or two, fill it, and return it with the shipping donation of $10 if possible. You may donate to Westside for us to do the shopping for you or you may also donate online. All shoeboxes are due by Sunday, November 23rd. Thank you in advance!!


  • Please wear your “I Love My Church” t-shirt for 5th Sunday, November 30th at 10am. We have more T-shirts available in all sizes for $10, if you or family need some.


  • Part 2 of the singles ministry food and game night is Monday, November 17th at 6:30pm in the fellowship hall.


  • The church will host a table at the Hope for the Hungry banquet Friday, November 14th at 6:30pm. We have 5 available seats for anyone who would like to attend. Please get in touch with Evangelist Barrett to sign up. We will have the bus available to take you to the event from the church and back.  


  • Thanksgiving Dinner is fast approaching. We are asking the following to bring the listed items: MEN, please bring a ham and turkey. WOMEN, sweet potatoes, corn, mashed potatoes, green beans, gravy, cranberry sauce, mac and cheese, dinner rolls, stuffing, cake mix and cornbread. There is a list of all the items located in the foyer. The last day to bring items is on Friday, November 21st as we will be passing the baskets out on Saturday, November 22nd.


  • Mentors Needed for New Boys’ Program! We are looking for one more man with a heart for mentoring young boys to help launch a new monthly program—similar to Girl Talk—designed to encourage, equip, and empower our youth. This group will meet once a month for an hour and a half. Lessons will be provided, but mentors will plan fun and meaningful activities to go along with each session. If you’re interested in investing in the next generation of young men, please see Youth Minister Alberta Barrett for more details.


  • She Leads Empowering Girls. This is free for girls in the 6th-12th grade. Girls will need to sign up to attend. We will meet at the church at Saturday, November 15th at 8:30 to go to the event as a group.


  • Announcements from our neighboring churches will now be located on the bulletin board in the foyer. 


  • We have some We Love Our Church Red T-shirts available for $10.00. If you are interested, please see Sis Kerra. 



  • Save the date! Our very own Sister Kelci Ellis is hosting “Evolutionary Love” a spiritual black woman empowerment 2-day workshop. This event will take place at the Killeen Civic Center on October 31st and November 1st. Tickets go on sell March 1st , there is limited seating.  For more information, please see the front office.



  • The Evangelism Team needs your help! They are requesting one member from each Auxiliary to join their team! They are also looking for men join. If you are interested, please see Reverend Dr. Rosebur.


  • The van ministry is looking for drivers to help with Sunday School, and Wednesday Bible Study pickup. Drivers must be responsible drivers with a valid driver’s license and good driving record. Please see Deacon Barrett if you are interested.


  • We’ve created a Westside Job/Skillset Directory to help our members who may need said services. Anyone who is interested in signing up for our Westside Job/Skillset directory or in need of more information or guidance, please text Brother Booker (512) 960-7423. The directory is located in the foyer


  • All announcements and cards are due by noon each Wednesday. Your announcement and cards MUST be turned into the office for approval.



Things to remember:

 

  • Our Westside food pantry is now open every 3rd Wednesday from 11am to 2pm.
  • Free bread pantry is every Friday from 10am to 1pm in the Fellowship Hall.
  • Anyone interested in helping at the Killeen Food Bank, please meet here every 2nd Saturday at 8am.
  • Youth Announcements can be emailed to: westsideyouth1@yahoo.com
  • Ministers’ Wives will meet on the 3rd Saturday at 10am. Please contact Sis Jones for the location at 254-449-0505.
  • The Children’s Church and the Westside Angels Children Church is held every 2nd, 4th, and 5th Sundays.
  • New members class is located in portable 3E every Sunday at 9:45am.

Our sacrificial prayer gatherings are moments of deep devotion and intercession. We come together to pray fervently for the sick, the shut-in, and the needs of our beloved community. Embrace the power of collective prayer and join us in seeking God's healing and blessings.
